Really like the way you have described the Biggest Threat between del.ici.ous and google Dominance. Google uses a updated algorithm to determine the importance of a web page and also for spamming content.

Yeah, this is the next evolution of search. More social measures taken into ranking results. The only problem is that it will be plagued with the same problems of spam etc.

What you describe is what is generally being talked about as semantic web or web 3.0 ... Semantic search goes beyond keyword into contextual analysis and personalized relevance, thus is does make perfect sense to combine a search engine such as yahoo and user generated content, engagement, and sentiment measurements into a powerful predictive model to suggest the best possible results to each individual. I've been writing and talking about this for about a year and we're getting closer and closer ... keep it up.
